Who is the course intended for?
This training is for people working in the healthcare and nursing or any other profession where infection prevention and control is required.
Duration:
0.5 Day (morning or afternoon)
Training methodology:
This course is classroom -based and instructor-led programme with the use of DVDs to support the learning.
Assessment:
MCQ and practical skills assessment
Accreditation/Certification:
On successful completion participants will be awarded with Amber Safety Certificate of Completion valid for 2 years.

  • Know the correct hand washing and sanitising techniques to ensure good hand hygiene
  • Know what is meant by chain of infection
  • Understand the importance of PPE to prevent or reduce the risk of exposure

  • Infection prevention and control.
  • Hand hygiene, including a practical session for each participant.
  • Waste management and decontamination issues.
  • Personal protection, including the types of protective equipment available to use.
  • Needle-stick injuries or any occupational health injury/accident.
