Mobile Elevated Work Platform (MEWP) Testing

Regular inspections and testing of Mobile Elevated Work Platforms (MEWP) is essential to ensure operator safety, and the safety of those working nearby.

According to the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work (General Applications) 2007, safety compliance tests must be carried out on MEWP equipment every six months. Inspection and testing must be undertaken by competent professionals to ensure they meet the required standard in Ireland.

JMH Services follows a strict inspection checklist that considers all components and the function of the MEWP unit to ensure it is operating to required safety standards. An inspection will also identify any potential risks that are likely to cause problems in the future, such as wear and tear, fatigue and corrosion, so that you have the opportunity to rectify them before they worsen.

JMH Services inspects, tests and certifies the following:

  • Articulated Booms
  • Scissors Lift
  • Reach Boom
  • Popup Boom
  • Static Boom

Once the inspection and testing of your MEWP equipment is complete, you will receive a GA1 Form, Report of Thorough Examination, certifying your MEWP equipment is compliant with Irish health and safety requirements. If our inspection and testing service identifies defects, you will receive a report of what needs to be rectified before you can gain certification. All inspections, certification and renewal dates are logged plus our service technicians will also  notify you of the best and most efficient way to rectify any non-conformances.
