About the Company​

Amber Safety Limited is set up by Brendan Morris and Mick Whelan who have combined 50+ years experience in Operational, Maintenance, Safety, Training and Consultancy Management roles. Amber Safety Limited primary base in Dock Road, Limerick is situated 2 km from the City Centre, 1 km from the exit of M7 motorway and 20 min from Shannon Airport with free parking available. Our Training Centre has 3 modern training rooms, fitted with TV screens and access to WiFi and custom built confined space indoor training unit – all of the above available to rent, subject to availability.

Meet the team

Brendan Morris, Owner / Director of Amber Safety Limited

Brendan Morris is a highly accomplished professional with 40+ years hands-on experience in the wide range of roles and industries, from maintenance through production to management but always with the special focus on health & safety. Brendan’s most recent role as a Director as Amber Fire Protection Ltd provided him with an extensive training experience with managing and delivering fire safety courses nationwide. Brendan started his career in IWP as an apprentice toolmaker & maintenance fitter. After that he moved to Verbatim, where over 17 years he worked his way up the career ladder to become Maintenance, Engineering and Safety Manager. He successfully managed a team of mechanical, electrical and electronic technicians across four-shift cycle. In 1999 Brendan became Operations Director in DuTec Limited, where over ten years he led highly successful team of thirty five people operating at two-shift cycle. Brendan was responsible for Health & Safety within organisation as well as for developing and operating Kan Ban system for an offsite warehouse controlling hardware stock worth €35m and for developing processes to implement Lean Six Sigma. The last ten year Brendan spent in Amber Fire Protection as Director with a specific responsibility for Health & Safety, Quality Management Systems and delivery of Fire Safety training nationwide.

Mick Whelan, Senior Safety Consultant

Mick is a health & safety professional with 10+ years’ experience delivering training and consultancy services nationwide to customers in the wide range of industries: transport, pharma and medical device manufacturing and construction. Mick brings a breath of industry knowledge and professional qualifications coupled with a passion for health & safety to offer a customised, solution orientated consultancy and training services. Mick has held supervisory and management positions with various companies, before joining Veolia as Facility, Training and Site Safety Manager. Over six years in this role he was responsible for employees’ safety, from the induction training, through toolbox talks, liaising with EPA and HSA and leading ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 implementation to the successful accreditation award in 2011. In 2013 Mick set up his own training and consultancy business, MW Safety Services. As a free-lance trainer and consultant, utilising his hands-on experience and professional education he assisted clients in fulfilling their health & safety obligations as per Safety, Health & Welfare at Work Act 2005 and other statutory provisions. The services Mick provided ranged from training, toolbox talks to lifting equipment inspections, compliance audits and preparation to ISO 14001/ OHSAS 18001 accreditation.

Kinga Dzierzak - Siek, Training Centre Manager

Kinga brings 12+ years experience in health and safety, organising and managing customised in-house and public training to corporate and SME customers nationwide. Kinga’s excellent customer service skills and industry knowledge is highly valued by customers and trainers. Over the past five years Kinga gained trainer’s qualification in Manual Handling, People Moving and Handling and also Working at Heights. In order to expand her knowledge and interest in Health and Safety, Kinga successfully completed NISO Occupational Health and Safety training in 2017.
